Deskjet Still Not Working After Reload of Windows ME
I recently re-loaded Windows ME on my machine. My HP Deskjet 952C is
not working now. I re-ran the software CD that came with the printer and it loaded successfully. However, I get an error message stating that I’m getting an "error writing to LPT1. Printer timeout occurred. Increase time setting for printer." I go into settings and increase it, but still nothing prints. This sounds like you didn't follow the instructions for installing the
printer, and it has got loaded somehow as a Parallel port printer rather than a USB printer. Go to Printer Properties| Ports and set the printer to print to the HP USB printer port (probably named something like USB001) -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "KelliW" wrote in message news:3_1426622_46eb95eab737df38e41d3096a7096f94@wi ndowsforumz.com...
