A while back my son said he could not access excite.com to check his email. I
remembered being in a window earlier for a similar problem. I went there and found excite was blocked and so I removed it. All worked well after that. The problem is this 78 year old head can't remember where that was. Now I have the same problem and can't access zone.com. My cribbage skills are getting rusty. Need help Please Thanks Kelly |

Kelly,
It could be you are thinking of the hosts (no extension) file that lives in the C;\Windows folder. Despite having no extension this is a plain text file and can be read and using Notepad. Remember though that after editing the file must not have any extension. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Windows kbsmith9 wrote: A while back my son said he could not access excite.com to check his email. Hi Mike,
No I think I found the window I was looking for under internet options, privacy and click on edit. excite.com was back in there and I removed ti again. I have used system restore back to June 2 with no luck. I have dates back to February. I can use my hotmail address to sign in to this newsgroup or my email but not into the zone.com games. I only get that (page can not be displayed) screen etc. There may be over 100,000 people on line these days. I was there when 4000 was a crowded night. Thanks Kelly "Mike M" wrote: Kelly, It could be you are thinking of the hosts (no extension) file that lives in the C;\Windows folder.
