Default OT Ping for Heirloom

Greetings O Ancient One.
You have mentioned in several posts over the past decades
how you like and use Iconoid. I know that it's nigh
impossible to teach an old dog new tricks but you might look
at http://users.rcn.com/taylotr/icon_restore.html. I've
been using it for a while and you know it has to be simple
and fast if I use it. You install it, right click on the
Recycle Bin, click Save Desktop Icon Layout. After that
anytime your Icons get moved (e.g. cause of Safe Mode) right
click on the Recycle Bin, click Restore Desktop Icon Layout.
I like this little guy!

If you decide to try it be sure and download the "Uninstall
Icon Restore" at the bottom of the web page.

Take care now ya heah.

Thanks, Job. Actually, since moving to XP, the shuffling of icons is no
longer a problem and I don't even have Iconoid loaded anymore. However, I
will keep the link handy for Me user reference. Truth be known, there are
other apps that do the same thing. Have you tried the uninstall? Just
curious if it removed the menu addition from the Recycle bin (for XP and all
of the system icons in Me and prior) in the process....that would be a
Registry dig, if not. I don't know why anyone with XP would need it, I have
been in Safe Mode a number of times and my icons always come back the same.
Maybe I've just been lucky??
Do appreciate you thinking of me......thanks.
Heirloom, old and going fast on my bike
pulls all the wrinkles out,
but, I hate it when I "flap"
