Default Internet Explorer ERRORS

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/response...87d0b&SID=1279
This is the page it sends me to. When I do a Windows Update, it
doesn’t show any critical updates and for sure no Service Pack 2.
Also I wrote down what the error said.
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModNamewininet.dll
Mod Ver: 6.0.2800.1468 Offset: 000218ac
I’ve tried reinstalling Internet Explorer, repairing it, I’m ready to
pull my hair out.
I had all kinds of junk on my computer after using it for years so I
reformatted and now I’m having this problem. I’d be forever grateful
if someone can assist me. Thank you ever so much~! Nidama

What OS are you using? This is a Windows 98 group, and the web page you linked to
states:
"For Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, or Windows
2000:
A solution or workaround is not available for the problem you reported. Microsoft is
actively working on the issue and will provide information when it becomes
available."

The Service Pack is for Windows XP, as stated on the web page you linked.

Windows 98. I thought that the page it kept sending me to was for XP
and NOT me. However, I’m kind of ignorant, or maybe stupid when it
comes to some things. I’ll keep trying everything and Anything I
can think of. Again, THANKS~!!!! Linda

You're welcome....it looks like you have "Dr. Watson" program running, which shows
errors in the format you posted. If so, turn it off so that you can get standard
Windows 'illegal operation' error messages, which may be easier for us to
troubleshoot for you.
What version of IE are you using, and have you gone to Windows Update after
installing it, to get all the critical updates? Are you running an up-to-date
anti-virus?
