Default BAD HARD DRIVE & WIN98

Hey Everyone,

The two subject line items aren't really related as I make it seem to
appear, but I have an old DELL 233Mhz PIII, and a computer store guy who
declared the hard drive going bad has been looking for a "small HD betw 3 - 6
GB" for me for a while now and has given up -- but left me with an intriguing
tease that same might be available from some obscure computer parts
supplier?! So I don't want to give up quite yet.

The "expert" I have been relying on says that even a 10 gig HD would
probably be too much for the system, so I'm left with a sick laptop that
wants to just present the endless hourglass when anything is tried to get
going after boot-up

Anyone have any help or can point me to links where I might find some
salvation?

Your description of the problem could have may things as it cause--just how
did he determine that the hard drive was bad? Did he run the driver maker's
diagnostic software on it?

The "system" doesn't care what the capacity of the HD is (as long as
it's less than 127 GB). As long as the drive you are replacing is a
standard size, just get a 40 or 80 GB.
