Default Problems Printing

I have an older HP computer with a Deskjet 610cl printer. It has worked fine
for a number of years for my grandmother to check her email and play games.
All of a sudden the printer will not even print a test page. I have
uninstalled all of the software and drivers with no luck and have even
installed the printer on another PC with no problems. Short of reinstalling
the OS what can i try to solve the problem? I tried using a generic driver
along with the lasted one from HP too. I was not able to go in DOS and try
that route, but it just seems like there is something with the OS. Thanks
for the help.

Dave
