Default Two Monitors Problems

I am having two different problems with two different monitors.

1- Philips 7CM5299/89T
A shiny line appears at the bottom (where the task bar is) of the screen.
Sometimes a tap on the monitor clears it but it comes back after some time.
Sometimes it comes quite frequently and sometimes it takes time to
(re)appear.

2- DELL D1028LR
I recently purchased this (used) monitor. It was working fine for month or
so. But for last 4/5 days its screen gets bigger (about 5%) and than slowly
comes back to its position. At the time of the problem, picture goes some
what black, colors increased. Is heat the cause as it is about 45C here. I
also use TV Tuner which worked fine for last five years on above (Philips)
computer.

TIA

Default Two Monitors Problems

I suspect that you may have already guessed the answer.

As the two monitors appear to display completely different symptoms, the
that seems to eliminate your PC and video card - assuming that these
conditions apply on the same PC (You didn't confirm)

1- Philips 7CM5299/89T
Sometimes a tap on the monitor clears it

Confirm that the Video cable connectors aren't damaged and are secure,
(although you should have already confirmed that by transposing the two
monitors) but problem more likely an 'age/heat-related' dry joint
(oxidation) in the monitor. Tapping the monitor is a pretty good clue. Not a
lot the 'user' can do to repair it. Might even be 'beyond economic repair' -
That's a call between your wallet and the local TV repair man.

2- DELL D1028LR

Same applies to this one too. Second hand? If a bargain price, it does
make you wonder why and perhaps a lesson to be learnt? Any recourse back
with the 'seller'?

Default Two Monitors Problems

Mart, Thanx for response

Yes PC is the same.

Philips 7CM5299/89T:
"Tapping" happened co-incidently and its not rapairing it rather it comes
back (as i mentioned). And cable connectors are all OK.

DELL D1028LR:
Lastly Someone gave it to me free. Sorry for using word "Purchased". It was
working fine till now. It did it again as i am typing this.

Thanx anyways
