Default computer freezes

My windows 98 PC freezes or reboots just a minute after
start

up. I cannot sta connected to my broadband connection
long

enough to do an online virus scan. I am able to run it in

safe mode, so I ran Adaware, no threats. However when I
try

to scan with Symantec Anti virus 8.1, I get this error

VPC32 caused an invalid page fault in
module WEBSHELL.DLL at 0167:512d168d.

What can I do?
