Default files in temp folder

I have the following files in my "C:\windows\TEMP" folder. I would like
to delete them. But every time I try to delete them I get the message
"Cannot delete ~DF6579: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not
full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."

Even after making complying with all the above mentioned conditions I
get this message.

MXLibDir File Folder
~df503d 2KB
~df5263 2KB
~df585d 0KB
~df594d 0KB
~df5af8 0KB
~df6579 2KB
F061 2KB

I tried to using MSDOS to delete it (using del *.* while being in the
TEMP folder) but it still gave me "Access Denied" message.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Did you boot to DOS mode using a W98 start up disk? What exactly did you
type once you got to a command prompt?

After getting to the Temp folder by using the CD command, I typed "del
*.*", entered y and then hit enter.

I did not reboot the computer to do that. I went to the DOS promt thru
the Start Menu and did the above mentioned operation.
