Default how to boot system from Cdrom

Hi,

I am having the same problem (I want to boot from floppy drive instead of CD
rom) but none of the below works. I simply canīt get to BIOS setup. Are
there any other ways? (Win 98 SE).

Thanks a lot!

Camilla

Hi ,

In order to boot from CD rom u need to set the BIOS accordingly , in order
to get into Bios setup , u need to press
DELETE key or Any function key the moment u reboot ur system . It depends
on the type of BIOS u use.
In Bios Setup goto Start up options and enable boot from CD ROM.

Also chk the below trouble shooting steps y ur system is not booting .

What i can understand from ur post is that u have changed the config of ur
system to 128 MB RAM (not ROM) .
After the upgrade of memory ur system is not booting. The reason can be as
follows
1. The new RAM is faulty . In that case remove the new RAM and repalce it
with the old one and see if ur system boots
2. The RAM is not installed properly. So remove the RAM and position it
properly on the mother board. So that it sits fully in the slot.
3. What kind of RAM u r using SIMM model , DIMM model ? at times u cant

mix
two different types of RAM on a single board !!
4. The RAM banks should not be half filled . chk that out.

Next time pls mention what do u see on the screen , a blank screen , a
error msg , if so what is the error msg?
In case ur system beeps when u boot it , what type of beep u hear ? A long
continuos beep or intermitant small beeps?
What is the BIOS u use in ur system ? In case u know it . The manufacturer
name should have appear on the top right corner of the screen the moment u
boot the system when it was in a working condition.

Regards,
Venkat.
