Default Updating Windows ME

Windows ME 7/15 2004
In 2001, Windows ME was installed on my new Compaq,
and I've been installing the critical updates since then.
I like ME very much and don't plan on upgrading to XP.
Looking ahead, if ever my computer crashes, I will
again install Windows ME from the ME startup (boot)
diskette.
Question: after I re-install ME from the diskette, what
Is the preferred way to install all of the many updates
that have been available during the past 3 years or
