Default Unable to copy to D: ?

Whenever I try to copy a file from Word onto my D: a
message appears that states that "access is denied" and
that D: is set to "read-only." How do I change it?

If D: is your CD, you can't - without installing third-party software.
If D: is something else - what is it?
