low color and resulution on computer

I put windows me into my HP computer and I cam only get
16 different colors. The computer when I try to change
it, the computer tells I go any higher. I also try to
have a higher resulution and the computer won't gove me a
option to go to a higher resulution. can anyone out their
can help me?

You should go and download updated drivers for the video card.

reboot to safe mode
open device manager
remove all display adapters
remove all monitors
reboot to normal mode - windows will reinstall the required drivers -
hopefully curing your problem.
