Norton Internet Security 2005 - Ccproxy and Win ME
Hi,
I have installed NIS 2005 on a friends PC (Win ME, PIII, 450Mhz, 125mb RAM) and when I switch the account from Supervisor to Child so activating the Parental Control, the P/Control database fails to load. The error message in Windows Task Manager is "Ccproxy (not responding)". Also, if I boot up the PC with the P/Control activated the system hangs and I have to Clean Boot to access the applications. System performance around 60% If I Clean Boot Win ME with the setting the Parental Control activated the database will load. Looks like a conflict, any one had a similar experience and maybe has a solution? |

NIS2005 is incompatible with the Win Me operating system resulting in
problems such as you are experiencing. My advice would be to return your copy and purchase instead a compatible application. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Phil wrote: Hi, I have installed NIS 2005 on a friends PC (Win ME, PIII, 450Mhz, 125mb RAM) and when I switch the account from Supervisor to Child so activating the Parental Control, the P/Control database fails to load.
