Default Reformatting hard drive to remove virus

I intend to network a Windows XP notebook & a W98 SE
desktop. It appears that a virus has damaged my W98 SE
files beyond repair (fortunately I have a tape backup).
Should I reformat the hard drive & re-install W98 SE
(along with anti-virus software)? If so,is there a how-to
guide for doing this?

Thanks!

If you have had a virus infection and you need to re-
install Windows and there's nothing on the hard drive that
you wish to preserve then re-formatting and re-installing
is the best option. Note that immediately following the re-
install you should apply the MS Security CD, then go on-
line to see if there are any other updates required. See:
W98 RESTORE DISK AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES.
