Default W98 unexpected shutdowns

W98 is shutting down unexpectedly.
It does this when using at any time and when using
different programs.
Nothing on ms KB seems to help.

Anyone got a suggestion?

thanks

This may seem like an odd question, but when it shuts down, does it do so in
an orderly fashion, as if YOU had shut it down manually? Or, does it just go
OFF? And, what brand name of antivirus software do you use, and when did you
last pay money to renew the subscription for that software?
