deleting duplicate entries in device managers
I've gotten the blue screen of death with an OE error having to do with VxD. I looked
through the archives and I deleted duplicate entries in the device manager. That seemed to solve the problem, then the BSOD came back. I went back to the device mgr and found that several duplicate items that I deleted came back. They are in the "System Devices" folder - "IRQ Holder for PCI Steering" and "Motherboard Resources" Hopefully this will narrow down my problem, and I apologize for the multiple posts on the same problem. Duplications in those entries is quite normal - you need to look elsewhere

Did you delete all the entries? If an item in device manager is duplicated,
I find it most useful to delete the item as well as the duplicates and just let it reinstall. "Josh Lott" wrote in message ... Hi,
I had 2 of everything in my computer-Control panel. I ran scan disk ( under options-selected though). It cleaned up the doubles in control panel. Hope this helps. |
