Default outlook express address book

Over the weekend my 1st computer crashed. I have a 2nd
computer to which I just transfered over my Outlook
Express account to. But my outlook express address book
was not transfered. I have a few hundred names/e-mail
addresses that I need. Please tell me how to retrieve my
address book from my old computer that is no longer
working. Keep in mind the computer won't even boot up.

Thanks

..... Keep in mind the computer won't even boot up.

Not even into Real Mode DOS using the Windows Startup (floppy) Disk?

If not, then you will probably need professional help, unless you know how
to remove your hard drive and add it as a secondary drive to your other
computer. If you can do that, you can retrieve the original address book and
copy or import it to the 2nd machine.

Just curious, who told you that?

Try setting your old hard disk as a slave, put it on the computer and import
your address book. If you don't know how to make your old hard drive into a
slave, take your computer and the old hard drive and get a professional to
do it for you.

You must understand this is a peer-to-peer group of people who help each
other out with problems and not Microsoft. You recieved an answer to your
problem from Mart as usually the answer is given here in the NG so others
who may have the same problem can find help and no one will email on a one
to one basis.
Hope this helps.

Joan, Melissa has posted via the infamous CDO for Win2K, so if as you
suggest, that she was expecting a direct email reply then she may not see
any of our responses g

the post tomorrow, think everyones forgotten me :-(

That's the wonder of using OE's message rules. I use a specific
colour for all posts that have in
the From field. I use other rules to colour other posts including my
own, those over a certain number of lines, those from Microsoft staff
and yet another colour for MVP replies. Makes checking the NGs so
much easier even if there are the odd errors leading to a post being
wrongly coloured or missing its colour.

That wouldn't surprise me g didn't bother to check the headers.
