Default Popup blocker CheckIT86

Greetings.
I have a popup blocker on my WinMe that seems to do an excellent job in
blocking. So much that some of it I don't see what it's blocking when I go
through the websites again with it disabled. This makes me wonder; Are
there websites that are able to send invisible popups, and if so, what would
be the benefit for them?

Point your browser in this direction:

http://www.auditmypc.com/freescan/popup_blocker.asp

That will not only test your popup blocker (so you can find out how well it
really does against all the various types of them -- and there are quite a
few different ways to make them) but it will also tell you about the various
types of pupups that are known about at this point in time. I'm sure that
eventually they'll find new and interesting ways of making them. The first
test will even give you a score based on your performance.

Here's another one but they don't explain it very well.

I turned on scripting and my popup blocker failed two of them. Considering
that I've been using the same one forever and a day I'm not surprised. I
should probably update it, it's free. Without scripting enabled I didn't
even get to load the pages that had them on there so I guess I don't really
ever actually see too many.

Hope that helps Mr. Mailbox
