Default Error after installing HP Printer

I posted this message under "General Information," but
realized it is likely a software issue. Apologies for
double-posting.

After installing a new HP OfficeJet 5510 printer, we are
getting an "HPSOM/Kernel32.dll" message every time we
boot up. It locks up the system, and we must manually
turn off the system (warm boot won't work). We have
uninstalled and reinstalled the software three times, but
cannot resolve the issue. At one point, we got a
different HP and Kernel32.dll message. Please help!
