Default MSQSRV32

When I close out of Windows ME it hangs and finally the
end task option comes up. Once in a while I get an error
message abot MSQSRV32 during the shutdown. I checked
processs running, and the only time MSQSRV32 is running
is when this occurs at shutdown.

One other note: this only occurs if I have gone out to
the Internet via AOL dial-up. If I haven't gone to the
Internet since boot up, this message does not occur.

Thoughts?

If instead of MSQSRV32 you intended to write MSGSRV32 the following may be of
some help.

MSGSRV32 not responding:
Your PC is having problem communicating with your hardware. What changes did
you make to your system (hardware, drivers or application) just prior to this
problem developing? Try booting to Safe Mode and then either undo those
changes or use System Restore to return your system to the state it was in
before this problem started.

Look at your hardware, especially drivers. When you see that msgsrv32 is not
responding this is normally due to it waiting for a driver that has possibly
crashed, msgsrv32 is waiting for a reply that isn't forthcoming. Msgsrv32 is
just the messenger, the problem nearly always lies elsewhere.

See MS KB Q138708 - "Function of the Windows 32-Bit Message Server"
