Default PC Hangs

My brother in law recently installed ADSL router in his PC which has windows
98SE / Pentium IV.
When he was using internal modem everything was working fine.
Now that he has installed ADSL router whenever he goes to internet his pc
hangs up all of a sudden after sometime.
He has to close the power switch and start again to start his pc.
When he contacted his ISP, they said that windows 98SE was the problem.
What they said is that, Windows 98SE being slow cannot match with the speed
provided by the ISP.
Is it possible that the problem is due to 98SE and is there any way to
rectify it.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
TIA.

Try checking the company that made the ADSL router and ensure you have the
latest firmware.

There may also be an installation problem.

The suggestion that win98 cannot keep up with with the speed provided by the
isp is ludicrous.

Assuming it is an USB connection, you should also ensure you have the USB
updates for 98 SE. This site may help you resolve some problems.

Excellent site. I have a Windows 2000 system that refuses to boot when
anything is plugged into the USB 2.0 port.... this may help me get things
fixed.
