Open Software then select Updates. As Bill Purvis suggested, Belarc Advisor is good, plus much more info on your machine. How to find out the patches installed in windows 98 .
Unfortunately there is no one place but
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components] is the best place to start looking. Lot's of stuff pre-existing so watch for that too. Also some stored here. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings] "MinorVersion"=";SP2;q313829;Q832894;Q837009;" And as you might expect the above two locations are NOT the only places, so...mission impossible? At least for casual work? Unless you went through all possible updates to find out exactly where the registry info was stored (like Belarc probably has done), you are basically groping in the dark. Try Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html Thanks for this advice. Advisor does a nice summary of the state of affairs. It is a nice program to get people to use that you are going to help if they have no idea of what is installed, what is updated and generally no clue whatsoever. What ****es me off though is that although it uses an advanced WISE installer, that during uninstall offers Automatic, Custom or Repair options, during the installation i didn't get to choose where i wanted to install it to. I mean, c'mon, almost all software-installers offers this nowadays. -- Please followup in newsgroup. E-mail address is invalid due to spam-control. |

It doesn't "install", it's a stand-alone program. http://www.lavalys.com/products/over...ng=en&pageid=1 MM |
