Default CDRW Install

I tried to install an I/O Magic Internal CD-RW but I keep
getting a message that states "...device is not supported
by Windows 98 Gold Operating System." Anyone have an idea
what this means?

Only time you may see such a message is when installing the supporting
software, not the CDRW itself.
Means that the supporting software cannot establish write communication with
the cdrw based on your current operating system which is the original Win98.
In some cases, a firmware update may fix this problem. Otherwise, you have
to upgrade your OS.

I'm having a similar problem. i've searched other

inquires and they mention that the CD-rw should be set up
as a slave to the D drive through a placement of a
plastic plug in the back of your CD -rw drive
