Default Outlook Express Error Message After Critical Update

I downloaded a critical update today for Microsoft Outlook Express. Now I can't open the program. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem? The error message dialog box has "Msimn" at the top of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Msimn is the name of the Outlook Express program file: MSIMN.EXE. What does
the rest of the error message say?

Default Outlook Express Error Message After Critical Update

Nemo,

The error dialog box that popped up simply said that the program performed and illegal operation and would shut down. It advised me to contact the vendor if the problem persisted. I didn't realize that "msimn" was the Outlook Express program file. I have been in contact with Microsoft Support and have already gone through one set of steps to correct the problem, which included uninstalling IE6 and related files and reinstalling it. Unfortunately the problem persists. I'm waiting to hear back from the support tech with suggestions. Thanks for your reply.
