Default explorer error message

I keep getting the following message:

Explorer has caused an error in ~8272807082.tmp
Explorer will now close.

If you continue to experience problems, try restarting
your computer.

which I have done over and over again and as soon as the
desk comes back up, the same error message occurs. I
tried to delete the tmp file, but it won't let me, saying
that windows is using the file. When I open the file, it
is all symbols, etc.

Anyone come up with this problem?? and what did you do for
it?
Thanks for you help. I can still use the computer if I
move the message aside.

I've run into the same problem. The .tmp file can be
deleted after booting to safe mode. But, it comes right
back when you reboot again. I've run Spybot, NAV, etc.
but to no avail.

In reply to your post, I had the same problem with
different #'s. I tried to delete it too, but it wouldn't
let me. I finally used my Restore. I set to restore it
from may 15. It got rid of it, anyway it hasn't popped up
again. Thank goodness.

Thanks to everyone who answered my message. But Kudos To
you Rick. I downloaded, http://www.lavasoftusa.com/, and
it fixed my problem. The temp file is still there but the
error message does not pop up.

Glad it's fixed. You should be able to delete it now either in Windows
or from a DOS floppy boot. Might have to change the file attributes first:

A:\ ATTRIB -S -H -R filename
(or Properties/uncheck System,Hidden,Read-Only)
then Delete

Rick

Thanks again.

free for personal use antivirus tool:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

spybot/adware detection & removal tools:

Give those 3 a whirl.
