Default Cannot download much of anything

Finally have my Windows ME running better after reinstalling and did download
NERO to burn CD's. Now I cannot download any music without getting an error
screen all the time. Just about anything I try to download will get the blue
error screen. Can get on the internet without any problem. Am constantly
using CTRL, ALT, DEL to restart after getting this error screen when trying
to run maintenance. You all have been so helpful these past few months, can
you help me again? Also, had to replace my monitor. Bought this Gateway
system in 2000. Is is just trying to die on me?

Showing us the contents of the error message(s) would be of great help. I
had a *run-in* with Nero not too long ago and it left a bad aftertaste in
me. The Experts will soon give you some pointers.

Harry.

Please, as Harry suggested, post the error message details that you get from
download attempts. As far as the BSOD's when trying to run mtce items, is
it a particular app, i.e. defrag, or any of them? First suggestion would be
to try the mtce item from Safe Mode, if it works there, you probably have a
software conflict. Post back with the results and we can tackle it from
there.

The error message usually looks like this.

An error has occured. To continue
Press Enter to return to Windows, or
Press CTRL + ALT+ DEL to restart your computer.
If you do this, you will loose any unsaved
information in all open applications.

File Name: VMM (12) + 0004C3C Error: 0E: 0028: C0283C3C

This occurs in a blue screen quite a bit even when trying to run
maintenance. I was trying to download iMesh to try getting music and I
couldn't download it either. The music I was trying to get before was from
AOL Music Now which has joined with Napster. Napster said it wouldn't run
with Windows ME only XP so I thought that might be my problem. Seems I can't
download anything at this point. I haven't even opened Nero yet to do
anything.

I posted the error messsage in Harry's post. As far as running maintenence
from Safe Mode, it will not then either. I get the same blue error message
screen with maybe different file names.
