Version 7.2 seems much faster than 8.1 on this 350 Mhz machine. I just saw the recommended configuration of 1 Ghz & 256 MB of RAM, which is vastly different than the minimum of 233 Mhz & 64 MB of RAM that I saw earlier yesterday. Yup, I can't expect this to work at a quick pace. Sounds like M$ engineers have infected Netscape spec writers with unrealistic minimum requirement specs. That just makes stubborn computer users insist on using programs on systems that are too slow for normal use. Netscape 8.1 worked fine on a 1.6 Ghz machine I installed it on yesterday. So I was a little disturbed that it worked so slow on my 350 Mhz machine. Thanks. I'll keep my Netscape 7.2 going and take this Netscape 8.1 off of my slow machine. |

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Look at what works for you for "donkeys (y)ears" and only change when desperate, otherwise you will be constantly updating features that you don't even know how to use. Good luck and have fun.
