There is no viewer capable of viewing Text Document files.
Hi all,
When right click a TEXT file in Windows Explorer, the above error message prompts out. I've checked that in the file assoication setting, the "view with quick view" is selected. Did anyone encounter the same problem? Please help. |

Change the file association for Text documents, to C:\Windows\Notepad.exe
You edit the association through Start Settings Folder Options File Types tab. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Raymond" wrote in message ... Thanks Glen,
I know that I can use other apps to view the text file, eg, Wordpad, Notepad, WinWord..... But I want to use QuickView to view it. Any other alternatives to fix this problem. Appreciate your great help. -----Original Message----- Change the file association for Text documents, to C:\Windows\Notepad.exe You edit the association through Start Settings Folder Options File Types tab. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Raymond" wrote in message ... Uninstall and reinstall QuickView from Add\Removes Programs Windows Setup, then set
your association again. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Raymond" wrote in message ... I've tried before but unfortunately this can't fix the
problem. I found something similar in MS, KB293041, is due to some registry problem. Don't know is there any fix for it. Anyway, thanks for your great help. -----Original Message----- Uninstall and reinstall QuickView from Add\Removes Programs Windows Setup, then set your association again. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Raymond" wrote in message ... I am not clear on exactly what you are trying to do and how you are going about it.
In your original post, you wrote: "When right click a TEXT file in Windows Explorer, the above error message prompts out. Do you have text files associated with QuickView instead of Notepad, or are you actually RIGHT-clicking them and choosing QuickView from the context menu? Click Start Settings Folder Options File Types tab Text document, click the Edit button, and post back with exactly what is shown there....everything. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Raymond" wrote in message ...
