JBOD Volume Size Limitation?
I am running Win98se and am planning to add a multichannel ATA raid
controller with 8x250gb drives as a single JBOD array. I am trying to determine whether the known FDISK and/or FORMAT limitations of 137gB will come into play here. According to the Win98se resource kit FAT32 can address upto 2tB volumes, but this is a bit pointless if you can't partition/format the drives this large. I am hoping that the raid controller and its drivers get around this problem somehow and it has its own partitioning/formatting programs as part of the raid software. The controller is a Highpoint Rocketraid 454 and I am seeking this info from the manufacturer, but am getting little joy here. Thanks in advance for any help offered. Malcolm Dowers |
