Paolo,

See MS KB278714 - "Using IEEE 1394 (FireWire) Devices with Windows Millennium
Edition" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=278714) for details about Firewire
support on Win Me. Anything more and it is the responsibility of the hardware
manufacturer (in this case Adaptec) to provide drivers for their products.

Thak yo for your answer,
I know that Adaptec could give me the driver for his card, but Adaptec told
me that too his card don't need any driver... The problem is that: IEEE
1934b or Firewire 800 is supported from Windows Millennium??
I'm using IEEE 1934 now and I'm happy with it.
I contacted La Cie before the Adaptec for information on his card FW800 and
La Cie told me that his card work as FW800 just with Win XP and as FW400
with Win ME. So I'm confused because Adaptec told me that his card work as
well but I need a kind of driver for support FW800 with Win ME.
Can you understand because I'm so confused? I don't want to buy another car
(for FW800) and discover thas is working as a FW400 becouse isn't supported
the High Data Transfer on Win ME...
Anyway I'll check in the site you told me

Thaks.
Paolo.

PS. Excuse my English...

I thank you one more time...
I think I'll try to buy this card... I think the doubt in Adaptec are
because they never check this card under Win ME...
IEEE1934 are totally supported then is logic to think IEEE1934b is supported
too...
I'll see.

Bye
Paolo.

Paolo,

Read KB 278714 which sets out the support for IEEE1394 in Win Me. If
additional drivers are required then it is the responsibility of the

hardware
manufacturer to supply them. This is similar to the position for USB 2.0

and
Win Me.

By the way, your English is fine. :-)

Paolo,

That IEEE1934 is supported in Win Me does not mean that IEE1394b is as well.
As I said I suspect the position is the same as for USB, USB 1.0 is supported
on Win Me but not USB 2.0 where the hardware vendors are required to supply
the drivers.

Yeah...
I think my hope will be disappointed...

find someone who sale card and driver too.
