I think if you look again, Figgs, you'll see Mike's not the target and this
was more a case of 'battle joined'!

Now I will have to check and see when Mike's birthday is....I think it

A "lot" older. :-)

Back after having had to totally rebuild the box I use for mail and news
following two fan failures. :-(

I wish I knew what was going on with this box. Brand new cpu cooler and
fan, cpu fan speed lovely and steady but the cpu temp is at the upper end
of my limits. I did find though that the 120mm exhaust fan I had
installed at the rear of the case had also failed and am currently running
without that fan. I'm guessing that the exhaust fan was more effective
than I thought in helping to keep the overall temps down and that once
I've replaced it I'll start to see the cpu temp fall. Only problem is
that the new cpu fan is fairly noisy but hopefully I'll be able to slow
that one down once the new exhaust fan is fitted.
