I'm no longer the Administrator of my own PC
Use Google to find: tweakui + "windows 98" and use its
Automatic logon setting. The Microsoft utility, TweakUI, has that setting, I think under the Boot tab. I'm no longer the Administrator of my own PC
I downloaded the "tweakUI" and checked the auto logon. No difference.
When I try to update IE (just 1 example) I get "To install items from Windows Update, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group" It's my PC why is this happening. There is no other user, password, network policy...nothing. What's flagging this??? I appreciate any help. |

I'm no longer the Administrator of my own PC
Right click Network Neighborhood on the desktop.
Click Properties Configuration tab Client for MS Networks = Properties button. Uncheck "Log on to Windows NT domain". Put a tic next to "Logon and restore network connections". Click Ok Ok and reboot. --=20 Brian A. Jack of all trades, Master of none. One can never truly be a master as there is always more to learn. "fired-by-pc" wrote in message = ... I'm no longer the Administrator of my own PC
This is the way it's always been set up. There's something else causing Microsoft and other software to need admin status and for some reason I'm no longer it???? I appreciate teh help so far. I still need more suggestions - Thanks |

Don't know if this is it... but open control panel and
click on network. In the Configuration highlight each entry in the window and select "Windows Logon" below. Do this to each entry in the upper list. -----Original Message----- Use Google to find: tweakui + "windows 98" and use its Automatic logon setting. Did you install a Firewall or some security software?
Try MS update Troubleshooting site. http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/ -- Henri Leboeuf Web page: http://www.colba.net/~hlebo49/index.htm === "fired-by-pc" wrote in message ...
