WinMe Splash Logo Substitution
Someone in another thread asked about preventing the WinMe splash screen
from appearing during boot up. The advice given was to edit to MSDOS.SYS file by adding the line Logo=0 to the end of the section called [Options]. What if you want to have a different picture come up instead of the Windows Me splash logo. How do you do that? |

Create your own graphic (bmp only) and save it as logo.sys and place it in
the root of C:\. The file needs to be a bit map (bmp file) with 256 colours and 320 pixels horizontal x 400 pixels vertical. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP ForestSpirit wrote: Someone in another thread asked about preventing the WinMe splash screen from appearing during boot up. Note that when displayed the horizontal pixels are each doubled making a
640 x 400 graphic but logo.sys has to be 320x400. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Seamaiden wrote: Thanks. |

You could of course have done what I suggested you do. g To help me understand what part of : add the line Logo=0 to the end of the section [Options] is it that you don't understand? To help you that is "add the line" to the "end of the section" NOT "add the text" to the "end of the line". -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP |

Add to what section?
To help you that is "add the line" to the "end of the section" NOT "add the text" to the "end of the line". [Options] BootMulti=1 BootGUI=1 AutoScan=1 WinVer=4.90.3000 ; Add the line in [log=0] ? |

I'm sorry I am no longer able to help as we don't appear to speak the same
language. Just one question but don't feel the need to reply as I won't be following this up but WHY do you persist in trying to use log=0 when I have on multiple occasions told you that the line to insert (you do know what that means I hope) is logo=0? -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Sean wrote: Add to what section?
