Default cant install ms office in newly install w98se

Just installed the w98se, updated and now trying to install ms offuce but
fail. It gives a message about the 'setup file' been missing or corrupted.
The only other installation is the driver for the modem and the only site was
to msupdate. Cannot understand how it can be corrupted or missing. Any advice
will be much appreciated, TIA.

If you are getting an error message during the installation of MS Office, saying the
setup file is corrupt, it is referring to the setup file for MS Office. Assuming
you are installing from a CD, try cleaning the CD. Please provide the exact error
message, word for word, and when in the process it occurs.

Glen,

Any idea why Office97 isn't listed as a whole as others are for the KB =
product search.

Perhaps because MS considers it at "end of life" and no longer supports it?

"Office 97" is reaching back a bit - LOL. Even I'd admit that (but don't
tell anyone). :-)
