Disable or Bypass New Hardware Detection
Hi,
I have converted my computers and my Wife's desktop computer to dual boot computers (Win98se or WinXP). Recently I installed a MediaLink WiFi adapter in my Wife's dual boot desktop computer. Note: MediaLink's driver is for WinXP, etc. but incompatible with Win98. Note: She doesn't need a driver for Win98. Does anyone know a method to disable or bypass detecting the MediaLink adapter when booting Win98? For now, I told my Wife to click on "Cancel" (Hardware Wizard) if she boots up Win98. Thank You in advance, John |

There is a "Next" and a "browser" to the location that has the .INF. There is no .INF file with this driver and this driver is not compatible with Win98. John |

After clicking on "Next", for the driver location, I selected C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS knowing there will be no driver for the MediaLink WiFi adapter. There is no driver available, I was informed, so I clicked on "Finish". That solved the problem. Thanks again, John |
