I had recently (today) downloaded a new virus protection
(McAfee Stinger). I was told it was better than norton,
so i downloaded it. So I figured that I did not need
norton anymore so I deleted it. Well, now when I start my
computer up it tells me I am missing a file in windows and
I have to hit any key to continue. It will then continue
to go into windows. Everything works fine, it would just
be nice to start my computer and not have that message
come up telling me that it cannot find this file
C:\Progra~1\norton~\NAVAP.VXD would not come up to where I
have to push any key to continue. What do I do? Thanks
for the assistance.

Search the registry for a reference to Navap.vxd and when found, delete it.

Whoa!!!!! Stop!!!!!! Halt!!!!!! Cease!!!!!!! Desist!!!!!!

Stinger is not an antivirus program. It provides absolutely zero
protection against your computer becoming infected with a virus. If
all you have is Stinger then you are wide open to infection.

Stinger is a virus *remover*. It can detect and remove 41 (in the
current version) of the most common viruses after they have infected
your computer. And that is all.

If you are infected with a virus that is not one of the 41 that
Stinger works on it will not be removed. And there are tens of
thousands of known viruses, not just 41.

I use Stinger regularly, and it is a very valuable tool.

But it is not an antvirus program.

Good luck
