Default Internet Explorer Repair

OK... This is an ongoing problem... If you read through
this message you will find the original problem.

Currently I want to try to do an Internet Explorer repair
and see if that fixes anything. So how do I go about
doing that?

Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks,
JIM

You are sure the system is clean.
Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer are closely tied
together. Try an IE repair.

Default Internet Explorer Repair

"Start" "Control Panel" "Add/Remove Programs".

Select IE (note : this is in the list under "*Microsoft* Internet Explorer".
IE updates and fixes are listed under "Internet Explorer". Really clear,
huh?)

When MIE is highlighted, click on the "Add/Remove" button. You should then
have three options ; "Add A Component", "Repair...", "Revert...". Select
"Repair" and click on "OK".

Once the repair has been done, you will be prompted to reboot.

Default Internet Explorer Repair

I checked add/remove. Mine did not have IE except for an
update.
Try this:
Start/Run type "msinfo32.exe" without the quotes.
click OK.
click TOOLS at top.
click "Iternet Explorer Repair Tool"
bolt Repair IE. OK.
If you get any errors? Post back.

As for a repair it depends on the version of IE.
Which one do you have?

I noticed XP Pro. does not have add/remove for IE 6 sp1. Can you only
overwrite it or does it get repaired in some other way? I know I am asking
an XP question in a 98 newsgroup and I only rarely do this. I have had bad
experience with trolls and Linux fanatics in the XP general newsgroup.
