Default add 2nd HDD with DOS 4.0 to win98se

Greetings Everyone,
I have an old 1980 IBM with a HDD of information in DOS
4.0 version. I would like to add this HDD to another
machine that has win98 se on it. Can I do this? I am
pretty sure I can. I would just have to use the command
line from win98 to retrieve any data on it. Thanks
inadvance.

yes you can do it as win98 can read a fat32 or fat16 partition...
as far back as dos 3
you can use windows explorer if you wish

one thing i forgot...
the old machine prob has an mfm drive
so it won't work in a modern machine.

if you can setup a fat16 partition
and have a serial transfer cable you could use dos interlnk /intersrvr

Assuming the IBM PC is still operating, open up the bios. Check the CHS
settings and write them down. Write down the pre-landing zone area too. I
do not suggest using auto for this hard drive in the other PC. Set manually
using the data you wrote down. Doubtful, but IBM may have these settings at
their website. Also may be written on the hard drive itself.
