Neat! - I'll make a note of that for future Mike. It's not very often that I
need to FDISK these days, particularly with just one disk present g but
its certainly a point worth being aware of, if just for these NG's.

Let's hope so Mart. I wondered if you'd missed the reference to a Code 10
error.

I have learned something though from this thread which I hadn't realised
until I checked it out for myself and that is that FDISK option 5, to
change drive, is only present when the system sees more than one drive. I
tested it here on a Win Me VM which has just the one virtual drive as I've
always been used to seeing option 5 as my old celeron here that's running
Win Me has two drives. So if a user doesn't see option 5 in fdisk when
they've added a new drive then they've got a driver or connection problem
that needs to be dealt with.

Cheers,

Thanks Mike - Got totally side tracked (AND completely missed the
Code 10 reference in the original post g). Let's hope Binky will be
able to resolve it now.

Mart,

Agreed, and without Binky's comment about not seeing a fifth option (I'd
never previously though to even count the number of options) I don't think
I would have realised that the option to change drives when using fdisk
depended on whether there were two or more drives. As for when I last
used fdisk, well other than for checking it out for this and other
queries, I haven't a clue since any drive management I need to do nowadays
I do using BING (www.bootitng.com) or XP's Disk Management applet.
