Default Animated 'Click here to begin' message.

Hi
My PC runs W98SE.

I am working my way through a W98 Hints & Tips book. There's an
article on removal of an animated 'Click here to begin' message that
points to the Start button on booting. I've seen this working on other
PC's but mine has never displayed this message. In the book and all
references I've seen on the web only show how to remove this apparently
annoying feature. The book shows two ways to turn it off, one using
Tweak UI the other by editing the registry. My version of Tweak UI does
not include the option described and editing the registry, seems pointless
trying as my PC does not currently display the message!

Strangly, what I would like to know is how to turn this message on?

Thanks for any advice.
Johno

In the Registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
add a hexadecimal value named "NoStartBanner" and give it a value of 0
Then re-boot.

I don't know that the "feature" still operates in Win98 anyway.

There is some reason that it doesn't appear--unfortunately, my recall is dim
on the issue and there's nothing in my notes. It may be that there's
nothing in the start up folder or perhaps you are the only user and are not
logging in to Windows.
