urlmon.dll

I got the invalid page fault error and fixed it using
information in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 254490.
In my hotmail, before fixing error, I could not see
anything in the pop-down menus. For example, a blank box
would open when 'attach' clicked. Same with all menus. The
first time I opened hotmail after fixing said error, the
menus were filled and I could, say, attach a file to a
message. However, thereafter, it is the same again. I
don't see the urlmon.dll message now, but the pop-down
menu box is empty again. IF it is not related to
urlmon.dll error how come it was ok when that error was
fixed? What is going on? Is there another error that needs
to be fixed too? Please help.
