win98 boot up error
My CPU runs at 3.2 Ghz. I receive, when booting, " while
initializing NDIS WINDOW PROTECTION ERROR". I understand that this is because the CPU speed exceeds 2.1 Ghz. I cannot find the fix whish is supposedly named Ndis.vxd. Can any one help me? Thanks |

It should state right on that web page that you must contact Microsoft for the fix.
Tell them you want the hotfix mentioned in KB article 312108, because you are experiencing the symptoms described there (note that the fix is only for original Win98 and should not apply for Win98SE). When you call MS, be sure to ask only for that specific hotfix, and do not ask any support questions at all; then be sure to ask: "So, this is free, right?" AFAIK, the number in the US is (800) 936-5700 -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Phil" wrote in message ... Just as Glee said. Also, seems it's a toll-free number. So, if at first
you don't succeed, try, try again. -- Thanks or Good Luck, There may be humor in this post, and, Naturally, you will not sue, should things get worse after this, PCR "Phil" wrote in message ... | Tried that but got the same run around telling me I needed | the fix for the Ndis.vxd file but not where I could get | it..
