Alt/Ctrl/Del Explorer AND iexplore on short list
If the computer starts acting a bit funny and/or slow while
browsing/surfing I'll check the Alt/Ctrl/Del list and the Add/Remove list looking for anything new. Quite often but not always both Explorer AND Iexplore are on the Alt/Ctrl/Del list and the comp will be better behaved if I 'End Task' for Iexplore. (If its there I always need to 'End Task' twice to kill it.) Have been doing this for quite a while now but don't think (don't remember?) both being on the list in the past. What's the differecce between the two? Could it also be part of ocassional 'IE has encountered a problem and...' or 'performed an illegal operation and...' issues? Win 98 SE. PentII, 400 Mhz, 256 RAM. IE 6, Flash 9, OE. AVG 7 always on every day, SpyBot S&D and Spyware Blaster updated and run at least weekly. History, cookies, files/offline files cleared almost daily. |
