Default Can you set win98 ICS to work with 192.168.1.x ...

.... I can only seem to get it running on 192.168.0.x

I have win98 PC with dialup, and ASDL modem (NETCOMM NB1300 PLUS 4), and
XP SP2 PC.

Modem uses 192.168.1.x

I need to have dialup backup, so both PCs able to access ASDL modem, and
when needed, the dialup connection.

Impossible???

Cheers

No.

After ics installation, change the ip address to whatever you want and
also change this registry value so it matches your chosen ip address
and mask.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ICSharing\Settings\General

IntranetInfo = 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 (change to your chosen ip)

Incidentally,

As your adsl modem has its own ip address, the chances are that it is
not a modem but a modem router running its own dhcp service. If so, it
will conflict with the ics dhcp server. To turn the ics dhcp server
on/off

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ICSharing\Settings\General

EnableDHCP = 1 (change this to 0 if you want to switch dhcp off)

If you switch it off, you will of course have to manually let your
pc's know what is the default gateway and what your isp's nameservers
are when you come to use the backup dialup connection.
