Default Can't watch ANY videos

Can you help me with my huge headache?

A little while ago I had to re-install Windows 98SE on my
machine. Now that I have done the re-install none of the
programs that play video (Media Player, Quick Time, DivX
etc) will play any video at all, ever, never. If I do
try to watch a video it usually causes widows to crash out.

Any ideas on what can be done to correct this?

You might have to go to windows update and check all is
updated, as when you install windows again you loose so of
your programmes so they all have to be reinstalled. Hope
this helps
