Internet won.t work help please

I had to do a reinstall of windows me over the top of the
existing. All went OK, however I had IE6 before and now I
have IE 5.5 and the internet connects but it's not
working. I think I should have uninstalled IE6 first OOPS

Internet explorer does not appear in the add and remove
programes box either so I cannot uninstall and reinstal.
Any one have any idea what I can do. Thanks for your
help. I can connect to the internet but I can't get any
pages to show. Thanks for any help

You have what's known as 'Version Soup' resulting from reinstalling IE5.5
(which came with ME) over IE6 - the only known way out is to follow the
instructions at
