Default ms paint

Hi. My MS paint program has never had a problem until now.
I have no clue how to fix this. Hoping all you computer
whizzes can help me again.

When I click -start-programs-accessories-paint, the paint
window will open, but it is blank and a box pops up and
says: .... There is not enough memory or resources to
complete operation. Close some programs and then try
again ...

It was fine about 4 days ago when paint was last used, and
I haven't added anything since then.

TIA for any help you can give.

This may be the problem but you may not be able to use the solution.

Open Paint up, then select Image, Attributes.
You probably have it set too large. Cut it down to the size you want,
e.g. 640 x 480 pixels or less. The smaller you have it, the faster it
will load. It will remember that setting until you change it again.

If you cannot do the above, use this:

Have a look he
Err Msg: MSPAINT Caused an Invalid Page Fault... [Q185501]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=188501
I have found that 90% of problems with MSPaint are fixed by this
reference:

To resolve this problem, use registry editor to delete the following
registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt
Version\Applets\Paint

This registry key is rebuilt the next time you start Paint.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling via Control Panel Add/Remove Programs Windows
Setup tab Accessories, to see if it helps. Uncheck Paint Apply Ok Reboot. Go
back and recheck Paint. Make sure you have your WinCD on hand in case you're asked
for it or point to the Windows setup files ( many .cab files) if present on the
drive, usually found in c:\windows\options\cabs.

That is exactly what happened now that you pointed it out
to me. My daughter set the size larger last time she used
it. And you were right, I couldn't access attributes to
change it. I used your last suggestion about -----
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt
Version\Applets\Paint----- and it worked!!!!Thanks so

much! Have a great day!!

Although the OP seems to have gotten enough help to remedy her Mspaint
problem, for which I am happy, I too have become confused. Not wanting to
really butt in here, but perhaps I can help confuse it some more?

Might have been a snafu with the 185501 and the 188501. Afterall, they *are*
pretty close.

Anyway, prolly been a long day. ;-) Hope I haven't steeped on any toes here.
