Disk partition full
My hard disk is partitioned. I keep on running out of
space on Drive C, but have masses of space on D. I have all my data on Drive D, and install applications there whenever I am offered the option to do so. Can I just move remaining applications from C to D, or must I uninstall and reinstall them? |

Uninstall and reinstall will almost always be necessary.

Hi DSK,
As Richard is one of the resident experts in this forum, do as he advises. The reason you can't *simply* move them from one partition to another is because there will be way to many Registry entries referencing your C drive from the first install that would be leftover. Major problemos. Un-installing and re-installing should help alleviate that problem. Another option is to get a partitioning program and move some of the free
space from D: to C: Here is what I use: BootIt Next Generation is available from: http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ and it does partitioning, makes a compressed image, does many other partitioning chores and is a boot manager. It is not quite as easy to use as Partition Magic but it is half the cost and has more features. Unlike the crippled PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo you can try for FREE for 30 days. The web site has a lot of support articles. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "DSK" wrote in message ...
