Default Adminstrator Privlegaes required to download new software

I have a Win98 client that was a user on a NT peer-to-peer network. The
client is now stand-alone. The client still requires Admin privelages to
download software.

How can I remove Administration requirement so I can download updates?

There is a policy set in the registry, either install the policy editor and
allow the updates or search the registry for keys called "policies" and
delete any values with names like NoWindowsUpdate. I don't know the location
of these keys off hand, you could try the general discussion group.
Export, on the File menu, any keys you are about to delete for a back up in
case of problems.
